Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for the organization’s day-to-day operating activities. The COO provides leadership to the strategic planning process and implements new strategic initiatives related to areas such as Operations, Program Services, Finance and Human Resources. The Director of Development is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support the organization’s $3,500,000+ annual operating budget. The Director will lead efforts to increase donor support through individual giving, corporate partnerships, and special events. This senior leadership position works closely with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and key stakeholders to meet annual fundraising goals and sustain the long-term financial health of the organization.
The Boys and Girls Clubs of Hartford (BGCH), the birthplace of the National Boys & Girls Clubs movement, traces its roots back to 1860 when four local women opened their homes to disadvantaged boys, forming what was then known as the Dashaway Club.
