Position Summary
Salary $82,000 -$92,000 (negotiable depending on skills and experience)
The Boys & Girls Club of Plymouth is seeking an Associate Executive Director to join our leadership team. Reporting to the Executive Director, this role supports the Clubhouse's daily operations, providing hands-on leadership across programs, staff, and community engagement.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated skills and experience in most, if not all, of the Essential Functions and Qualifications detailed below.
The ideal candidate is a dynamic, mission-driven professional who demonstrates strong leadership, program management, and team development skills.
Essential Functions:
Program Development Leadership
- Help to foster an environment that celebrates youth achievement and promotes belonging, usefulness, competence, and influence.
- Provide supervision and mentorship to full- and part-time staff to ensure excellence in program delivery.
- Implement the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) “Formula for Impact,” focusing on Academic Success, Health & Well-Being, Character & Leadership, Career Planning, and Workforce Readiness.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge of licensing requirements of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, local municipalities, and other licensing bodies in support of our work.
Youth & Community Engagement
- Collaborate with Senior Leadership Staff to support civic education initiatives, fostering early civic engagement among youth and building a foundation for lifelong, informed citizenship.
- Work with Senior Leadership Staff to create an engaging homework help and tutoring program that encourages Club members of every age to become self-directed learners.
- Assist in strengthening relationships with community partners, volunteers, and organizations to enhance program impact and visibility.
- Provide high-quality programming and support for youth development, ensuring that young people have access to the resources and opportunities they need to thrive.
- Collaborate with staff to develop outreach strategies that raise awareness of Club programs, achievements, and opportunities for community involvement.
- Serve as an ambassador for the Club at events, meetings, and public forums.
Program Administration
- Support the hiring, onboarding, and ongoing professional development of staff.
- Assist in the development and oversight of Club facilities and programs, including the Music Center, and work collaboratively with the Board Development Committee.
Qualifications
- Understanding of and commitment to the mission, vision, and values of the Boys & Girls Club of Plymouth.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in business, education, nonprofit management, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum three years of progressive leadership experience in youth development or education, preferably within a Boys & Girls Club or similar youth development organization.
- Experience with facility management preferred, not required.
- Strong background in program planning, administration, and budgeting,
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management tools.
- Exemplary communication skills (written and verbal) are needed, including the ability to present to large groups, interact with stakeholders, and represent the organization at community functions.
- This position requires a valid driver’s license and may require frequent local travel.
- The candidate must agree to national fingerprint-based background checks through FirstAdvantage, SORI, CORI, and DCF approvals.
