The Senior Director of Corporate Philanthropy is a key member of our Resource Development leadership team and is responsible for leading a high-performing team to raise more than $2.5 million annually through corporate partnerships, sponsorships, and signature fundraising events.

 

Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, this leader will manage a portfolio of corporate partners, foundations, and high-net-worth individuals—driving all aspects of relationship management, from identification and cultivation to solicitation, stewardship, and long-term engagement.

 

This position also oversees BGCMD’s special events portfolio, ensuring that each event strengthens community engagement, elevates our mission, and achieves fundraising goals.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

 

  • Lead the Corporate Philanthropy and Events Team, including a Corporate Philanthropy Director, Manager, and Events Manager.
  • Manage a $2.5M+ revenue portfolio, ensuring compliance, reporting, and growth in corporate and event fundraising.
  • Oversee all special events from strategic planning through execution, including corporate sponsorships, donor cultivation events, and community engagement experiences.
  • Build and sustain meaningful relationships with corporate leaders, board members, and major donors to expand support for BGCMD’s programs and youth.
  • Develop and implement strategies to retain, renew, and grow multi-year commitments and sponsorships.
  • Partner across teams — including Marketing & Communications, Grants & Contracts, and Program Impact — to align storytelling, proposals, and engagement strategies.
  • Provide leadership for the Associate Board of Directors, supporting emerging leaders and volunteers in advancing BGCMD’s mission.
  • Serve on the Board Nominating and Board Engagement Committees to help connect volunteer leadership to the organization’s philanthropic goals.
  • Use data and analytics from BGCMD’s CRM to track portfolio activity, measure progress, and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

 

Role & Responsibilities 

  • Submit expense reports and invoices in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. 
  • Manage the executive calendar, including scheduling one-on-one meetings with direct reports and arranging visits with donors and partners as needed. 
  • Schedule and manage work blocks to optimize time for focused tasks, ensuring alignment with weekly priorities. 
  • Manage and organize email communications, including replying to urgent messages daily, responding to priority emails within 48 hours, and filtering out spam and junk mail. 
  • Coordinate internal and external meeting requests, prioritizing senior leadership and ensuring alignment with calendar availability. Reschedule or adjust meetings as needed based on conflicts. 
  • Review and edit communications for grammar and accuracy before submitting them to the DevOps team. 
  • Request and track weekly and monthly reports from relevant departments and ensure timely submission. 
  • Enter donor meeting details and notes into Raisers Edge, maintaining accurate records of interactions. 
  • Monitor and respond to RingCentral messages, forwarding inquiries to the appropriate team members. 
  • Seasonal role with provided equipment, supporting various administrative and scheduling tasks throughout the employment period. 

 

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements 

Candidates may meet the minimum qualifications and requirements by possessing an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Communications, or a related field. 
  • 1-2 years of administrative support experience, including calendar management and scheduling. 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience working with donor management systems (e.g., Raiser's Edge) and basic accounting tasks such as handling expense reports. 
  • Experience in a nonprofit, fundraising, or donor relations environment. 
  • Experience with communication platforms such as RingCentral and donor management tools like Raiser's Edge. 

 

Additional Knowledge and Skills 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other relevant software for scheduling and communication. 
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work. 
  • Ability to work independently and with a team. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in handling scheduling conflicts and urgent tasks. 
  • Availability to work on a seasonal basis, as needed, with flexibility for urgent tasks. 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. 

Compliance Requirements

  • Candidates must be able to pass an annual background test, pre-employment drug test and reference checks.
  • A valid driver's license and ability to be insured under the company's insurance policy is also a requirement 
  • They may be required to lift supplies, materials, and collateral materials weighing up to 25 pounds. Outdoor work and light physically demanding activities may be required on occasion.

 

In-Office and Remote Work

This position works primarily at the Program Support Center Offices but may occasionally work from other BGCMD facilities as necessary. BGCMD employees may work from home one day per week between Tuesday through Thursday. All remote work and other flexible work arrangements must be approved prior to implementation.
