Job Title: Graphic Design & Content Specialist 

Reports to: Director of Development 

Status: Full-Time with Benefits, Exempt

Location: Based in Valdosta, GA, with regular travel across assigned sites

 

Position Summary:

The Graphic Design & Content Specialist leads the Boys & Girls Club of South Georgia’s marketing, social media, graphic design, and content creation. This fast-paced, hands-on role serves as the organization’s in-house marketing and creative expert, responsible for a strong, consistent brand across all Clubs and communities. Strong graphic design, social media experience, and excellent writing skills are required. The ideal candidate can take a broad priority or campaign, build a clear communication plan, and execute the messaging, graphics, content, and timeline with creativity and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

 

Marketing Planning & Campaigns

  • Develop and maintain an organization-wide marketing calendar covering social media, email campaigns, website content, newsletters, seasonal mailings, and other collateral.

  • Partner with the Director of Development to shape and execute annual fundraising, marketing, and awareness campaigns with clear audiences and goals.

  • Develop campaign messaging, communication plans, and content timelines.
  • Track key marketing and communications performance metrics, including social media engagement, email performance, website activity, and campaign results, and use insights to strengthen future efforts.

 

Content & Communications

  • Write clear, compelling content for social media, email, newsletters, press releases, fundraising, events, donor communications, and organizational storytelling.
  • Identify and develop stories highlighting youth, programs, donors, partners, and community impact that will increase engagement and support for the organization.
  • Coordinate with staff and part-time support to maintain a steady pipeline of quality photos, stories, and content from across the organization.
  • Create content that reflects all Club locations and communities served.
  • Attend key organizational events, programs, donor activities, and community events to capture timely photo, video, and storytelling content; occasional evening and weekend work is required.

 

Graphic Design & Brand

  • Serve as the organization’s primary graphic designer and creative resource, producing digital and printed materials including newsletters, invitations, brochures, flyers, signage, donor collateral, sponsorship materials, presentations, and campaign pieces.
  • Prepare materials for professional printing and coordinate with vendors as needed.





Digital Platforms & Distribution

  • Lead and manage the organization’s social media presence across all platforms and maintain a social media content calendar.
    • Provide guidance to managers of county-specific social media pages as needed.
  • Manage organizational email communications through our email platform, Constant Contact.
  • Maintain and update organizational website content; coding is not required.
  • Capture and use quality photography and video content; video creation and editing experience is strongly preferred.

 

Team Collaboration

The Graphic Design & Content Specialist is an active member of the Resource Development team, working alongside roles focused on donor stewardship, community outreach, and special events. Together, the team builds relationships, engages the community, and tells the story of the Boys & Girls Club—each role bringing its own expertise while working together across shared campaigns, events, fundraising efforts, organizational priorities, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Strong graphic design skills with a professional portfolio.
  • Experience managing social media for an organization or brand.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar tools.
  • Strong visual judgment and brand consistency.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to turn broad ideas into clear communications and execution.
  • Ability to travel among Club locations as needed.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in nonprofit, fundraising, community engagement, or mission-driven communications.
  • Experience with grant writing.
  • Experience with Constant Contact or another email marketing platform.
  • Photography experience.
  • Video production and editing experience.
  • Experience managing website content.
  • Experience developing materials for both digital and professional print production.
