Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership for a Growing and Changing South Central Kansas

  • Lead SCKS’s strategic expansion across South Central Kansas by identifying high-need opportunities and aligning Clubs with school districts, military communities, and growing suburban areas.
  • Position SCKS as a regional leader in youth development by partnering with public, nonprofit, and business leaders to advance strategies that support children and families.
  • Lead special projects and priority initiatives that strengthen SCKS’s long-term impact and organizational effectiveness.


Mission Impact & Program Excellence

  • Champion high-impact programs that deliver measurable results for youth across academic success, workforce readiness, digital access, and mental wellness.
  • Deepen strategic partnerships with school districts, charter networks and municipal leaders to expand access and community impact.
  • Embed an uncompromising culture of safety and youth protection aligned with BGCA standards and the needs of families.

Revenue Growth & Deep Philanthropic and Corporate Engagement

  • Lead a comprehensive revenue growth strategy that advances a strong culture of philanthropy through corporate partners, foundations, individual donors, and community stakeholders.
  • Cultivate major gifts and strategic relationships with leaders across the region’s aviation, manufacturing, healthcare, education, agriculture, and financial sectors to strengthen long-term organizational sustainability and impact.
  • Expand partnerships with local municipalities, school districts, civic organizations, and regional foundations to secure sustainable public and private investment that increases access to high quality youth development opportunities across the communities served by SCKS.


High-Performing Board Partnership

  • Partner closely with a dedicated and engaged Board of Directors representing business, civic, education, and philanthropic leaders across South Central Kansas.
  • Collaborate with Board leadership on fundraising, governance, financial stewardship, strategic planning, and organizational growth to advance the mission and long-term sustainability of SCKS.
  • Ensure Board members are informed, engaged, and actively supporting the organization’s goals, visibility, and community impact.

Financial Stewardship for Long‑Term Impact

  • Ensure strong financial stewardship that supports sustainable growth and operational excellence across multiple Club and school-based sites.
  • Optimize organizational resources, facilities, and partnerships to support program expansion, capital improvements, and increased access for youth and families.
  • Strengthen long-term financial sustainability through diversified funding streams that reflect the region’s philanthropic, corporate, and community landscape.

Culture, Talent & Workforce Development

  • Build and inspire a mission-driven team reflective of the diverse communities served across the Region.
  • Recruit, develop, and empower leaders who can thrive in a multi-site, community-based youth development organization.
  • Foster a culture grounded in inclusion, safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement that supports youth, families, and staff across the organization.

Community Leadership, External Relations & Brand Elevation

  • Serve as a visible and influential ambassador across business, civic, philanthropic, education, and community sectors.
  • Strengthen relationships with municipalities, school districts, community organizations, regional employers, and philanthropic partners to advance opportunities for youth and families.
  • Elevate the SCKS brand through community engagement, advocacy, strategic partnerships, and storytelling that highlights organizational impact and youth outcomes.

Regulatory, Safety & BGCA Compliance

  • Lead the organization’s safety culture with visible commitment, ensuring Clubs exceed BGCA membership requirements and state/local regulations.
  • Maintain rigorous standards in incident reporting, training, and prevention across all sites.
  • Proactively identify and address organizational risks tied to multi-site youth-serving operations.

Qualifications

  • Proven executive leadership in a multi-site or complex organization.
  • Strategic thinker with sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Proven success in revenue generation, fundraising, and/or building philanthropic and corporate partnerships that support organizational growth and sustainability.
  • Leadership skills, including negotiation, problem-solving, decision making and delegation.
  • Track record of building and leading high-performing teams across locations.
  • Strong relationship builder with Board, community, and cross-sector partners.
  • Compelling communicator with executive presence and external credibility.
  • Experience driving impact and growth through strategic partnerships.
  • Demonstrated financial and business acumen.
  • Advanced knowledge and expertise in asset management, including financial resources and property.
