Overview

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Northern Chautauqua County (BGC of NCC) is seeking a visionary and mission-driven Executive Director/SACC Director to lead our organization into its next phase of impact and growth. This is an exciting opportunity to champion our mission of empowering all young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens. The Executive Director/SACC Director will be responsible for the overall strategic, operational, and financial leadership of the Club. Working closely with the Board of Directors, this individual will provide direction and support to staff, oversee program implementation and fundraising, and build and maintain strong relationships within the community. The Executive Director/SACC Director is a strong communicator, fundraiser, business-savvy youth advocate, who is profoundly committed to providing a safe, engaging, and empowering environment for local youth.

 

The Executive Director/SACC Director must be qualified as a SACC - School Aged Child Care Director, this person must possess either: (i) an Associate’s degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation or a related field; and two years of direct experience working with children less than 13 years of age, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity in a child care program or related field of work; or (ii) a New York State Children’s Program Administrator Credential; and two years of direct experience working with children less than 13 years of age, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity in a child care program or related field of work; or (iii) a School-Age Child Care Credential or other Office-recognized credential specific to the school-age developmental period; and two years of direct experience working with children less than 13 years of age, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity in a child care program or related field of work; or (iv) two years of college with 18 credits in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation or a related field; and two years of direct experience working with children less than 13 years of age, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity in a child care program or related field of work

Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • Provide strategic leadership and vision to support the organization’s mission and long-term sustainability.
  • Work closely with the Board of Directors to develop, implement, and evaluate the Club’s strategic plans and goals.
  • Represent the Club within the community and promote awareness of its mission, programs, and services.

Board Relations

  • Serve as the primary liaison to the Board of Directors; support effective governance, board development, and engagement.
  • Ensure regular communication with the Board regarding organizational performance, finances, and key initiatives.
  • Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and developing a strong and engaged Board.

Fundraising & Resource Development

  • Lead all fundraising and development activities, including donor cultivation, sponsorships, and events.
  • Build and maintain relationships with funders, donors, partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure financial stability and growth through diverse funding sources.

Operations & Program Management

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of Club programs, ensuring alignment with youth development best practices and grant requirements.
  • Monitor program quality, safety, and outcomes to ensure measurable impact on youth served.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) standards.

Financial Management

  • Develop and manage the annual budget in collaboration with the Board Finance Committee and Treasurer.
  • Ensure sound fiscal management, transparency, and accountability.
  • Oversee resource allocation, financial forecasting, and reporting.
  • Proficiency in financial strategies and finance-related performance metrics. ·

Staff Leadership & HR

  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate a team of administrative and program staff.
  • Foster a positive and results-driven organizational culture.
  • Ensure compliance with all NYS labor laws and employment regulations.
  • Comply with and implement New York State Learning and Enrichment After-School Program Supports (LEAPS)

Safety & Risk Management

  • Champion safety as a core organizational value.
  • Oversee systems and policies that ensure a safe environment for youth, staff, and volunteers.
  • Serve as the point person for reportable incidents; maintain up-to-date incident and accident records.
  • Remain focused and even-keeled in challenging situations.
  • Balance compassion with authority and leadership.

Community Engagement & Public Relations

  • Serve as the face of the organization in the community.
  • Develop partnerships with local schools, government agencies, nonprofits, businesses, donors, and other community stakeholders.
  • Represent the Club at local events, meetings, and media opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 3- 5 years in a senior management or leadership role in a youth-serving or nonprofit organization
  • Proven ability to lead fundraising efforts and secure resources
  • Strong communication and public speaking skills
  • Experience supervising staff
  • Experience with budgeting, financial planning, and organizational management
  • Demonstrated leadership in staff development and team building
  • Familiarity with community-based youth programming
