Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver is hiring a seasoned operations leader to serve as our next Senior Operations Director. In this role, you'll lead and support a cohort of Club Operations Directors and help guide the daily work of 20+ Clubs serving thousands of kids and teens.

 

You'll coach directors, ensure high stands for safety and compliance, and help build an operational culture rooted in consistency, accountability, and youth first excellence. You'll also play a key role in shaping frontline staff development and performance systems that support organizational growth.

Responsibilities

 

 

Leadership
• Supervise and mentor Club Operations Directors; coach them in adaptive inclusive leadership,
human-centered management, and results-based accountability.
• Be present in Clubs (minimum 3 days/week) to model expectations and develop people.
• Lead performance management, succession planning, and retention strategies across Clubs.


Operations & Compliance
• Ensure consistent safety standards, incident management protocols, and licensing compliance.
• Lead Club operations audits and support implementation of infrastructure upgrades.
• Partner with IT, Facilities, and Compliance to ensure Club environments are safe, connected, and
welcoming.


Strategic Execution
• Translate strategic plan objectives into Club-level action and measurable outcomes.
• Guide Club-based implementation of grant deliverables and community partnerships.
• Support recruitment and retention of members through targeted strategies in each Club’s
community.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

 

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Business Administration or a related field from an accredited college or university.


Seven years of experience managing multi-site youth development, school-based, or community programs. This experience must include supervising mid-level managers and large frontline teams.

 


 

Preferred Qualifications

 

The ideal candidate in this position should possess:

 

  • More than five years planning, implementing, and evaluating youth programs; experience developing prevention and intervention strategies

 

  • Strong understanding of site-level operations, child safety, and risk mitigation practices; demonstrated accountability for youth and staff well-being

 

  • Proven ability to recruit, train, supervise, and motivate staff; strong organizational and delegation skills under tight deadlines

 

  • Experience building and managing partnerships with external stakeholders; ability to collaborate across teams and organizations (including BGCA networks)

 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication; strong relationship-building skills with staff, youth, families, and community partners

 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Canva, and online research; experience managing grants, projects, or partnerships
