The Boys & Girls Clubs of Benton and Franklin Counties is committed to empowering all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. We provide a broad range of programs and activities focused on our priority outcomes of Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, Good Character & Citizenship and Life & Workforce Readiness. Boys & Girls Clubs of Benton and Franklin Counties began in 1995 and now serves over 4,000club members each year at multiple club locations. The Club is currently working with community partners to establish additional club sites in underserved communities.

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Chief Operations Officer, the Director of Traditional Club Programs is responsible for ensuring quality, consistent programming in all four pillars is being offered at all traditional club sites, ensure that BGCA safety regulations are being met and provide staff training, management and guidance. This position will work with site leadership to ensure a variety of program offerings and experiential opportunities that are engaging and FUN!

Responsibilities

 

  • Strengthen and expand partnerships with community agencies, schools, and stakeholders to enhance program offerings and support the organization’s mission.
  • Represent the Club in the community to promote programs, recruit participants, and foster goodwill.
  • Partner with the Data & Outcomes Coordinator to ensure accurate, timely data entry for all traditional club programs.
  • Analyze program data to identify trends, address challenges, and inform strategic changes.
  • In collaboration with the Data & Outcomes Coordinator and the Grant Manager, oversee grant compliance, track deliverables, and ensure timely reporting.
  • Develop and manage annual budgets for traditional club sites, provide training to staff on fiscal stewardship, and ensure responsible use of donor funds.
  • Support facility maintenance, construction projects, and vehicle management to ensure operational readiness.
  • Assist with strategic planning, outreach, and implementation of program expansion initiatives for the traditional club model.
  • Recruit, hire, train, direct, motivate, evaluate, and supervise Branch Directors for traditional club programs, providing coaching and guidance to support their professional growth.
  • Assist Branch Directors in leading and managing their teams to ensure strong staff performance and retention.
  • Plan, coordinate, and lead organizational training days for traditional club staff to promote program excellence and professional development.
  • Ensure a diverse, balanced mix of engaging programs aligned with the Club’s four priority outcomes, while maintaining effective program flow, daily operations, and safety protocols.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness regularly utilizing the Youth Program Quality Assessment and implement improvements as needed.
  • Dedicate 10-15 hours per week on-site, rotating among locations to ensure visibility and equal attention across all programs.
  • Manage necessary administrative functions and assigned resources within the Club.
  • Contributes to the creation of the overall positive climate for youth development, team building and community-wide success of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Benton and Franklin Counties.
  • Assist in other areas as needed.

Qualifications

  • B.A. in Elementary or Secondary Education, Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Psychology or related field.
  • Minimum of five years successful experience working with school age children.
  • 21 years of age or older
  • Have experience managing and training a team of staff members.
  • Considerable knowledge of: the mission, objectives, policies, programs and procedures of Boys & Girls Clubs.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, direct and manage program operations.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to effectively train, supervise and motivate staff.
  • Ability to manage workload, prioritize and use time appropriately.
  • Leadership skills, including negotiation, problem solving, decision making and delegation.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and to develop solutions to problems with limited supervision.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Club staff, Board members, community groups, and other related agencies.
  • Strong computer skills
  • Must be able to lift and move objects as heavy as 40 lbs.
