Responsibilities

About the Role

 

We are seeking a passionate STEAM Youth Development Professional who will deliver our high-impact, career-connected learning for teens ages 13–18. This position focuses on implementing ourSTEAM Teen Center curriculum, which includesGoogle Marketing Certification, graphic design, circuit education, andApple-based learningin support of workforce readiness and digital fluency. This is a dynamic, growth-minded role.

 

What You’ll Do

 

  • Facilitate hands-on, teen-focused STEAM learning that supports career readiness and digital skills.
  • Implement Teen Center curriculum modules such as:
    • Google Digital Marketing & E-Commerce Certification
    • Graphic Design using Adobe Creative Suite & Apple Keynote
    • Circuitry and Technology Pathways
    • Apple tools including iMovie, Mac Foundations, Swift Playgrounds
  • Encourage teens to explore STEAM careers through practical, real-world application of skills and micro-credentialing programs.
  • Support students in building professional portfolios and completing projects that reflect workforce development outcomes.
  • Build rapport and mentor teens in small groups, fostering curiosity, responsibility, and self-confidence.
  • Collaborate with other program staff and local industry partners to execute teen showcases, certification celebrations, and special events like the annual STEAM Fair.
  • Maintain lesson plans, supply inventories, attendance, and student progress data.
  • Administer pre- and post-assessments and collect data for grant and program reporting.

Qualifications

Who You Are

 

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math, or Education preferred—or equivalent experience in one or more of these fields.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with youth, ideally in a STEAM or workforce development setting.
  • Strong classroom or group facilitation skills, particularly with middle and high school youth.
  • A self-starter with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Promotes the continuation and improvement of BGCAC services
  • CPR Certification (training provided).
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
