Opportunity Summary
The Boys and Girls Club of the Muskegon Lakeshore (BGCML), located in Muskegon, MI and boarding the eastern shores of Lake Michigan, is seeking its next Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to help lead the Club into a new era of strategic progress and collaborative leadership. Just three hours north of Chicago, the City of Muskegon is known for its welcoming neighborhoods, waterfront access, and vibrant and resilient downtown. This is a proud community where relationships matter, and residents are actively engaged in supporting local organizations. Above all, the next CEO must have a passion to serve underserved youth and fully believe in our mission. The BGCML intends to identify an energetic leader motivated by challenges and a dynamic work environment. The CEO will serve as a strong, dynamic and collaborative leader, responsible for managing daily operations, aligning position responsibilities with Board of Directors policy, establishing community relationships, and generating new capital funding opportunities. Success in this role will require strong interpersonal skills, clear communication, financial acumen, fundraising and marketing prowess, and a commitment to open and accountable governance that fosters trust among staff and Board members.
The BCGML is ready for a CEO who brings curiosity, discipline, and care to their leadership. The ideal candidate will be comfortable navigating complexity, skilled at uniting diverse perspectives, and dedicated to helping the Club grow with purpose while honoring what makes it unique. Caring about the future of children, ensuring area kids and teens achieve great futures, delivering a safe, fun space, providing engaging experiences, and managing caring professionals are all requisites to creating a successful journey.
The BGCML intends to increase its impact in the Muskegon area. The next CEO will be expected to increase the number of youths served and improve the efficacy of its programming.
