Overview

Responsible for assessing and excelling programs to meet Club goals.  Develop and implement streamlined quality and performance management system.  Manages program grant implementation and outcome execution. Oversees Club operations and programs with primary concern for program development and implementation; staff development; supervision of assigned staff; facilities; and budget management.

Responsibilities

Strategic Planning

  1. Drive and support the development and maintenance of all strategic outcome-based program initiatives and partnerships which support efforts to increase positive outcomes for youth in the areas of Academic Success, Good Character and Citizenship and Healthy Lifestyles.
  1. Determine and establish program standards, and use data to perform qualitative and quantitative analyses of program operations and outcomes; work with staff to interpret and use evaluation results.
  1. Oversee the identification and evaluation of opportunities to improve program effectiveness on the basis of participation and achievement of stated goals; recommends modifications to improve program performance, as appropriate.
  2. Manage performance of assigned staff in achieving goals, providing technical assistance in program design, development, community relations and program operations.
  3. Plan and implement a staff development and training program.

 

Partnership Development

  1. Collaborate with stakeholders and develop community partnerships with leaders and organizations working in youth development (e.g. policy makers, funders, program providers, etc.) to drive the development and use of metrics to identify and create best practices around programming and sustainability; keep abreast of national research and trends in best practices and bring that learning to the leadership team to inform strategic and program planning.
  2. Work closely with the Development team to link metrics and evaluation activities to resource development: provide data analysis and/or reports to meet requirements for data collection and outcomes evaluation for grant reporting; partner with internal staff or external consultant to map out current use of metrics and evaluation tools to meet potential funders’ requirements; partner with the CEO and VP, Resource Development to develop metrics and evaluation tools to meet potential funders’ requirements.
  1. Develop collaborative partnerships with other youth serving organizations, members, parents, families and community organizations.
  2. Support Board Committees, as assigned.

 

Leadership

  1. Lead towards a continuous improvement approach by embedding continuous learning in the program assessment and evaluation systems to enable management to regularly review program outcomes, track external trends, and make changes as needed.
  1. Oversee the creation, implementation and delivery of operations, programs, services and activities that facilitate achievement of Youth Development Outcomes.
  2. Participate in activities to maintain good public relations for Club programs, services and activities.
  3. Assist in the administration of restricted programs by overseeing program operations at each location; ensures the completion of required reports; and preparation of any required interagency reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or a minimum of ten years’ work experience in non-profit quality and compliance or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in non-profit youth development programs, preferably Boys & Girls Clubs, and knowledge of public school system.
  • Demonstrated experience in program development, implementation and staff supervision.
  • Computer skills and experience in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong project management, administrative and organizational skills.
  • Must be comfortable multi-tasking and enjoy working in a diverse environment.Considerable knowledge of:  the mission, objectives, policies, programs and procedures of Boys & Girls Clubs; of the principles and practices of non-profit organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, direct and coordinate operations; in personnel supervision, the recruitment and retention of key personnel; facilities management; and budget management.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and to develop solutions to problems with limited supervision and attention to detail.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Club staff, subordinates, Board members, community groups, and other related agencies.
