Are you passionate about working with children and creating unforgettable summer experiences? The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as Summer Camp Counselors (Youth Development Professionals)! This is a temporary opportunity through August 9, perfect for those looking to gain hands-on experience in youth development while having fun and making a positive impact.

Position Details:
  • Job Type: Temporary, Part-time
  • End Date: August 9, 2024
  • Pay: $17.50 - $18.00 per hour
  • Hours: 10–20 hours per week
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, between 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM (Wednesdays start at 12:30 PM)
  • Location: Multiple sites, including Thousand Oaks (flexibility required)
What You’ll Do:
  • Create a fun and engaging environment where kids feel safe and supported
  • Lead and facilitate activities that promote learning, recreation, and social development
  • Encourage positive behavior and teamwork among campers
  • Collaborate with staff, volunteers, and community partners to enhance program experiences
  • Be a positive role model, demonstrating respect, leadership, and integrity

Qualifications

  • What We’re Looking For:
    • Experience working with children in group settings (camps, schools, or after-school programs)
    • Understanding of youth development principles (especially in elementary-aged children)
    • Early Childhood Education (ECE) credits are a plus but not required
    • Strong behavior management and leadership skills
    • Reliable, flexible, and eager to learn
    Requirements:
    ✔ Must pass a fingerprint background check & TB test
    ✔ TB clearance required before starting (renewed every four years)
    ✔ Reliable transportation to program locations
