This is the top finance position at the organization.

 

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Dane County leads the way in youth development programs by working together with local businesses, foundations, and community programs to produce positive outcomes for over 7,500 young people and their families in Dane County, Wisconsin.

 

With a budget approaching $10 million, multiple locations, and a complex organizational structure, the BGCDC needs a highly capable nonprofit Director of Finance/Controller to manage its team of 3 finance, accounting, and information technology professionals.

 

The BGCDC also needs someone who is committed to service of the BGCDC mission, and enthusiastic about working with a diverse staff, board, and community constituency.

Responsibilities

The position’s job responsibilities include:

 

  • Accounting operations.

 

  • Leadership of the Finance team and function.

 

  • Strategic planning.

 

  • Resource management.

Qualifications

Education and experience sought include:

 

  • At least ten years of progressively responsible work experience managing the accounting functions in a nonprofit agency, or equivalent experience, required.

 

  • Proven track record of budgeting and accounting practices, processes, and procedures of nonprofit organizations required.

 

  • At least three years direct supervision of staff required.

 

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance, business administration, economics, or a related field, or comparable experience, required.

 

  • CPA or equivalent experience preferred.

 

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration or Economics, or equivalent experience, preferred.

 

  • Prior experience facilitating single audit process strongly preferred.
