Overview

The Resource Development Coordinator works in conjunction with the Director of Resource Development to execute the fundraising goals of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Annapolis & Anne Arundel County. As a member of the Resource Development team, this position plays a vital role in helping BGCAA achieve its mission to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.

 

The Resource Development Coordinator is responsible for facilitating the Resource Development plan through fundraising campaigns targeting foundations, corporations, civic groups and individual donors. The Resource Development Coordinator provides writing support for foundation and corporate grant requests and acknowledgment of donor gifts; provides coordination to the board of directors and staff in the planning and implementation of special events; and coordinates with staff and board in seeking grant funds. This position also provides administrative support to ensure effective data management, donor stewardship efforts, and reporting.

Responsibilities

RD Support (40%)

  • Collaborate with Director of Resource Development to develop and implement a multi-channel donor outreach plan.
  • Coordinate with Marketing Consultant to create donor outreach materials, including Annual Appeal, Annual Report, e-newsletters, and other collateral as needed.
  • Utilize donor management software to process donations, compile fundraising reports, and track donor stewardship and cultivation efforts.
  • Create and send donor acknowledgement letters.

 

Special Events (30%)

  • Under the supervision of the Director of Resource Development, oversee details for BGCAA’s annual signature events.
  • Coordinate with Marketing Consultant to create sponsorship and publicity materials.
  • Record and track event information using the donor management software.
  • Plan and manage silent auction/raffle at events; work with volunteers to solicit items.

 

Grant Administration (25%)

  • Research grant opportunities to determine which new grants to apply for.
  • Maintain schedule of applications, notifications, and reports.
  • Collaborate with Program Quality Director and Data Management Administrator to draft grant applications, track results and submit reports in a timely manner
  • Notify appropriate staff when grants are approved, received, or declined.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of one to two (1-2) years of fundraising and/or grant writing

  • Highly organized, detail oriented, self-starter able to prioritize and execute multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • An enthusiastic, professional demeanor and positive, can-do attitude with desire to provide excellent customer service.
  • Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong planning, time management, and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ) and other software applications with the ability to learn new technologies and systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Must hold a valid driver's license, have a reliable vehicle available daily for work purposes and show current automobile insurance.
  • Evening and weekend work is rarely needed.
