Overview

An exciting opportunity to lead the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Billerica located in Billerica, MA is open and we are looking for our next Chief Executive Officer to make a positive impact on kids’ lives. We are looking for candidates that will lead the overall planning and operation of the organization while providing leadership, direction and support to the Board of Directors. Boys & Girls Clubs mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

You will be responsible for bringing this mission to life in this community, as you work to ensure that the kids and teens in your care achieve great futures by providing a safe and fun space, an engaging Club Experience, and managing caring professionals to guide them along the way. As a proof point, 54% of Club alumni said the Club saved their life, so the impact you and your team will have on these kids and teen’s lives will be life changing.

Responsibilities

The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for providing leadership and direction in overseeing strategic planning and operation of the organization, in support of organizational mission and goals. Provides leadership, direction and support to the board of directors in developing organizational goals, attaining/allocating and managing resources, and establishing policies. Provides leadership and direction to staff management and partnership development in carrying out the key roles. Management of successful Aquatics Program and Licensed Child Care Program at multiple sites.

 

  • Supervise the effective operation and delivery of programs within the Club and community.
  • Implement a strategic planning process that results in the development and implementation of a quality strategic plan.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities for improvement and implement plans for improvements.
  • Identify, recruit and develop effective board members.
  • Ensure active participation by board members and support effective board roles and functioning. Ensure Board committees are provided with the information and support necessary to fulfill their objectives.
  • Ensure the annual budget is funded and organization has adequate cash flow.
  • Develop and execute plans to generate revenues through a variety of fund-raising techniques. Identify, cultivate and solicit donors. Oversee planning and implementation of special events.
  • Provide guidance to staff and volunteers performing resource development functions.
  • Work with CFO to develop, implement and monitor the Club’s annual budget.
  • Implement administrative and operational systems to support effective operations.
  • Ensure productive and effective staff performance, providing guidance, feedback and opportunities for professional development.
  • Develop and implement plans for updating existing technology and resources.
  • Develop strategic alliances with community leaders and local officials. Develop collaborative partnerships with other youth serving organizations, members, parents, families, funders and community organizations.
  • Increase visibility of Club programs, services and activities and maintain good public relations.
  • Ensure compliance with Department of Early Education and Care, EEC, to effectively manage licensed school sites.
  • Oversee Child and Adult Care Food Program, CACFP, which serves daily meals to members.
  • Develop metrics and outcomes to measure program success and areas for development.
  • Work with Unit Director to ensure the facility is up to code and maintained to ensure safety
  • Identify opportunities for facility improvement and growth to meet future program needs.
  • The ability to pursue and identify Grant Opportunities."

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in managing programs, handling Personnel/Human Resource issues, and operations in a non-profit agency or Boys and Girls Club; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and implement effective operations.
  • Leadership skills, including negotiation, problem solving, decision making.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the Board of Directors, staff, community groups, and other related agencies.
  • Knowledge of asset management including financial resources and property.
