The Director of Teen Initiatives will lead and inspire a diverse team in the development and implementation of innovative programs tailored to the needs and interests of our teen members. Reporting to the Vice President of Teen Initiatives, the Director of Teen Initiatives plays a pivotal role in shaping our Teen Programming department

Responsibilities

Essential Duties:

  • Executes the Teen Department’s strategic vision in alignment with BGCSDC’s strategic plan and under the direction of the Vice President of Teen Initiatives.
  • Oversees and evaluates daily programs, activities, and operations to ensure they meet the highest standards of quality and comply with grant requirements.
  • Collaborates with department leads and senior management to provide an integrated and comprehensive approach to program delivery and program evaluation.
  • Provides leadership and mentoring to team members through established performance goals, regular assessment of staff achievements, and continued opportunities for professional development.
  • Enhances curriculum and instructional materials to advance programmatic and organizational goals, demonstrating creativity and innovation in meeting targeted objectives.
  • Implements innovative teen outreach strategies and recruitment incentives.
  • Actively cultivates and maintains key community partnerships through intentional collaboration with local organizations, businesses, and stakeholders.
  • Facilitates communication between members, families, and department staff.
  • Assists in the planning of special events, large-scale projects, and unique initiatives.
  • Manages budgeting and financial responsibilities with precision, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
  • Travel as required to support program needs or participate in professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to lead and mentor a diverse team, set performance goals, and foster professional development.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

 

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • 6+ years of experience in teen development, leadership or a related field.
  • Pass pre-employment background screening and drug test.
  • Valid FL Driver’s License and be insured under the BGCSDC’s policy.
  • Occasional nights and weekends are required.
