Overview

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Chief Marketing and Communications officer will be the key member of our Marketing and Communications team, responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive marketing and communication strategies to increase awareness, engagement, and support for BGCAA. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record of driving successful marketing campaigns and building strong relationships with stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be passionate about our mission and have a deep understanding of nonprofit marketing and communication principles.

 

Responsibilities

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

  • Develop and execute a year long, comprehensive integrated marketing and communication plans to promote BGCAA’s mission, programs, and impact across various channels.
  • Lead a team of marketing and communication professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the successful implementation of strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with the executive team and program leaders to align marketing and communication efforts with organizational goals and priorities.
  • Oversee the creation and production of high-quality marketing collateral, including but not limited to digital content, print materials, social media posts, email campaigns, videos, and presentations.
  • Manage the organization's brand identity and ensure consistency in messaging, strength based tone, and visual identity across all communication channels.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with media outlets, influencers, and other key stakeholders to maximize press coverage and opportunities for visibility.
  • Develop and manage the organization's online presence, including the website, blog, and social media platforms, to engage and grow our audience.
  • Monitor and analyze marketing and communication metrics to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and initiatives, and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in marketing and communication, and identify opportunities for innovation and growth.
  • Represent BGCAA at events, conferences, and other public forums to promote our mission and build partnerships within the community.

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Control marketing and public relations expenditures against budget. Manage vendors and consultants to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery of products and services.
  • Contribute to attaining financial support by increasing membership and building the Club’s base of support through marketing and public relations campaigns.
  • Establish and maintain procedures and formats for marketing and public relations materials and activities.
  • Continuously develops knowledge of best practices to market Club programs, services and activities within the community.

Qualifications

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing and communication roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial position.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing and communication strategies in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team, foster collaboration, and drive results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and concepts clearly and persuasively.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement innovative marketing campaigns that resonate with target audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience in brand management, including developing brand guidelines, messaging frameworks, and visual identity systems.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms, including email marketing software, social media management tools, and web analytics.
  • Knowledge of media relations principles and experience working with journalists and media outlets to secure coverage.
  • Passion for social causes and a commitment to making a positive impact through your work.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Nonprofit and/or agency experience preferred
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Graphic and website experience (Adobe Suite, InDesign, photoshop, WordPress, Powerpoint)
  • Experience working well cross-functionally with teams
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with the demonstrated ability to effectively lead and motivate people to achieve results
  • An ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Data-driven leader with a track record of driving a digital strategy
  • Storytelling: passion for crafting a compelling story that drives people to action
  • Self-Starter: eagerness to roll up your sleeves, willing to immerse him or herself in the organization
