Position Title: Senior Vice President of Resource Development

Salary: $95,000-$110,000
The Senior Vice President of Development is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team and strategic visioning of the organization. The Senior Vice President is responsible for establishing and implementing the infrastructure needed to achieve the revenue goals for an $8.5 million organization. The Sr. VP is the key fundraiser responsible for the organization's development activities to build visibility and impact and diversify financial resources to achieve the $9 million revenue goal by creating an annual strategic development plan. The SVP solicits major gifts, oversees special events, and provides donor relations for corporations, individuals, and foundations. The SVP of Development positions the board to cultivate and solicit major gifts from individuals, corporations, foundations, United Way, government agencies, and others. The SVP is responsible for providing leadership and direction to staff, as needed, to support resource development and marketing efforts.
The Senior Vice President of Development is also expected to be flexible and adaptable, taking on other duties assigned to support the organization's objectives.

40% Resource Development
· Lead the creation and execution of an annual fund development plan designed to meet the organization’s revenue goals and align with strategic priorities.
· Establish annual and multi-year fundraising targets in collaboration with senior leadership and regularly adjust strategies based on goals & progress
· Oversee training of key stakeholders in relation to fundraising activities, including solicitation and donor retention
· Develop strategic plans for high-quality fundraising events, including Move ‘nGroove4BGC, White Party, and community service events
· Secure event sponsorships and build strategic partnerships to enhance success
30% Donor & Major Gifts Management
· Identify, cultivate, and solicit major donors with personalized cultivation plans
· Maintain ongoing, personalized communication with major donors and oversee the organizational stewardship process for recognition of key donors and long-term engagement
· Design and manage donor recognition programs
· Collect and analyze donor feedback to refine engagement and retention strategies
20% Strategic Leadership & Team Supervision
· Provide guidance and direction to the Assistant Vice President to ensure alignment with strategic goals, including regular performance reviews
· Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment
· Prepare detailed reports on fundraising activities, outcomes, and trends for senior leadership and the board and make decisions in alignment with meeting organizational goals
· Lead board committees, including special event committees and the Marketing & Development Committee
· Collaborate with the executive team to align development activities with organizational strategy and priorities
10% Additional Duties
· Develop and manage the department’s budget, ensuring efficient use of resources
· Oversee the marketing team to coordinate campaigns for increased organizational visibility and engagement and to ensure consistent branding and messaging across all organizational materials
· Ensure design and development of public relations documents related to BGCDC needs
· Increase visibility of Club development activities and maintain good public relations.
· Represent the Club at networking and community events. Develop strategic alliances with community leaders and local officials. Develop collaborative partnerships with other youth-serving organizations, members, parents, families, funders, and community organizations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Considerable knowledge of fund-raising techniques and sources of funding for non-profit agencies and organizations.
· Knowledge of the Boys and Girls Clubs mission, objectives, policies, programs and procedures and of the principles and practices of non-profit organizations, youth development services preferred.
· Ability to organize and coordinate fund-raising operations.
· Strong oral and written communication skills, both verbal and written.
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Club staff, Board members, volunteers, community groups, and other related agencies.
· Able to manage multiple priorities and be attentive to details.
Education and Experience
· Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
· A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in non-profit agency operations, specifically in the fund-raising field, sales/marketing, or equivalent experience
· A minimum of 3 years direct supervision of staff.
· Demonstrated experience in special events management or solicitation of major gifts.
