Overview

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater St. Louis invites applications for the position of Grants Director.  The successful candidate must possess exceptional writing and project management skills. The Grants Manager reports to the Senior Director and is responsible for attaining financial support through the successful planning, implementation and reporting of grants.  Specific duties include generating grant proposals and supporting documents, maintaining and implementing a grant funding calendar, leading a cross departmental grants team, ensuring reporting is done in a timely manner and researching and identifying new grant prospects.  

Responsibilities

Prepares and disseminates information about BGCSTL and grant opportunities to potential funders.

Supervise Grants staff

Tracks grant income, compiles income status reports, and variance reports.

Generates proposals and supporting documents in response to solicitations.

Maintains and implements funding calendar activities, including cultivation activities.

Writes reports to government, foundations, civic groups, and other funders.

Researches and identifies new funding prospects. Ensures grant activities take place and are tracked by program staff for grant reporting purposes.

Manages and leads a grant team made up of professionals from multiple departments.

Carries a caseload of grantors to be cultivated, solicited and stewarded.

Participate in departmental events as needed.

Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Well qualified candidates will have supervisory experience, project management experience and a track record of researching and securing new grant opportunities, writing corporate, foundation and government grant proposals and success in securing grants ranging from 5 to 7 figures.

Degree from accredited college or university in a relevant field such as marketing, business, management, English, communications, OR equivalent experience.

Grant writing experience with proven results.

Professional experience in a development environment is a plus.

Knowledge of fundraising software including queries, exports, and reporting capabilities a must; particularly Blackbaud products.

In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Excel.

Excellent writing, editing, and verbal skills required.

Strong organizational skills with particular attention to detail.

Must be a team player, a self-starter, and possess the ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
