ORGANIZATION MISSION:
The mission of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Suncoast (BGCS) is to provide high-quality, out-of-school Club experiences to ensure our young people, especially those who need us most, are on track to graduate from high school with a plan for their future, demonstrate good character & citizenship, and live a healthy lifestyle.

 

ABOUT BGCS:
Since 1965 Boys & Girls Clubs of the Suncoast has been serving kids and teens across Pinellas County. Starting in October 2023 Boys & Girls Clubs of the Suncoast entered into a shared service agreement with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay. Collectively the Clubs serve 30,000 youth in 35 Club locations throughout the greater Tampa Bay Region. The ambition for the collaboration is to increase the Clubs positive impact in the Tampa Bay region through innovative program models, that respond to the unique challenges local kids and families face.

BGCS has an experienced Senior Leadership Team that remains committed to the important mission of the organization. We are one of the fastest growing Boys & Girls Clubs organizations in the United States and are looking for a CFO who can help make a positive impact on kids’ lives.

 

POSITION SUMMARY:
Boys & Girls Clubs of the Suncoast is looking for its next Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the finance and accounting department. The CFO will manage the accounting team and be responsible for all financial functions including accounting, payroll, financial operations, property management, insurance policies, and legal requirements.

The interim Chief Financial Officer will continue to serve in the role until the new Chief Financial Officer is hired and will assist in the transitioning and onboarding.

 

Responsibilities

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Establish and implement policies and procedures for all financial management functions, ensuring appropriate controls and compliance with generally accepted accounting practices.
• Collaborate with the Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors to develop annual income and expense budget. Provide timely and complete reporting of financial results and recommendations for necessary actions to maintain the fiscal health of Boys & Girls Club of the Suncoast (BGCS).

 

• Work closely with Club leadership and managers to:
o Maintain, analyze, and interpret general ledgers for all funds.
o Manage the preparation and analysis of financial reports on a monthly and as needed basis.


• Oversee the process for identifying and evaluating opportunities for improved financial operations, recordkeeping, and reporting, working with external auditors to prepare and review audit schedules and annual report of audit findings.

 

• Seek and secure financial support and resources by managing:
o the preparation of the annual request for United Way funds.
o all assets and investments of Boys & Girls Club of the Suncoast (BGCS), including real property, equities, bonds, and other assets.

 

• Lead organizational planning and development of operating and fund account budgets, and control expenditures against budget. Ensure the maintenance of financial records and recordkeeping systems to ensure compliance with all regulations, generally accepted accounting practices and contractual requirements.
• Ensure a productive work environment within the finance and accounting function.

• Attend meetings of Executive Committee, Board of Directors, Finance Committee.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance, or business administration.
• CPA/CFA a plus.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of progressively responsible work experience managing the accounting functions in a non-profit agency with an annual budget of $20 million.
• Experience with shared service business model and/or innovative operating models preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of budgeting and accounting practices, processes, and procedures of non-profit organizations required.
• Demonstrated ability to organize, direct and lead operations in personnel supervision, facilities management, and budget management.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong organization and analytical skills.
• Ability to interact professionally with Club staff, Board members, volunteers, and other related agencies.

 

TRAVEL:
Travel may be required to multiple Club facilities throughout Pinellas County & Hillsborough County for training and/or other business purposes.
