Overview

The Senior Director of Development works closely with the Chief Development Officer to assist in growing support and market visibility through the development and execution of strategic fundraising and communications/marketing plans in alignment with the organization’s overall goals. These would include positioning the organization advantageously in media, social media, with prospects and donors and by creating and maintaining fundraising campaigns and stewardships plans for all donors and constituents. The Senior Director of Development will manage the Director of Development and Community Engagement, the Events Manager, and the Digital Storyteller and Marketing coordinator

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify, cultivate and fundraise gifts at five and six figures for the organization.
  • Develop and execute development plans, including cultivation and stewardship plans for all levels of donors.
  • Assist the Chief Development Officer in the execution of a comprehensive fundraising plan.
  • Manage strategies and activities for donor cultivation, solicitation, and relations.
  • In conjunction with Chief Development Officer, oversee event logistics, development, stewardship, donor relations and budgeting.
  • Assist with preparing budgets and provide periodic progress reports.
  • Reach set fundraising goals, including but not limited to asking for monetary contributions, overseeing fundraising events, and soliciting funds and resources in collaboration with the Development Team.
  • Design, develop and execute program initiatives and activities to support Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay’s Mission.
  • Lead the Development Team in creating and executing visibility campaigns to further the Mission, including strategy behind social media.
  • In conjunction with the Chief Development Officer, create and execute all aspects of the giving societies.
  • Manage the publishing of the following: the Impact Report, monthly e-blasts, Annual Report, end-of-year Appeals, mailings, and other annual projects as needed.
  • Implement annual fund campaigns.
  • Secure sponsors for events and annual fund campaigns.
  • Manage production design, layout, and distribution of sponsorship “menu” packages to potential event sponsors and donors in the community.
  • Develop an annual marketing plan to promote Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay, generate funding, and create awareness.
  • Create stewardship engagement and marketing campaigns.
  • Grow asset library (photos, video etc.)
  • Work closely with Development Team to establish content and timelines for effective email, direct mail, and social media campaigns.
  • Assist with all event logistics in support of Development Team.
  • Oversee management of Great Future Professional Council.
  • Perform other related duties as requested by Chief Development Officer to assist in the success of the Development Team.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the mission, objectives, policies, programs, and procedures of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay; and the principles and practices of non-profit organization.
  • Be goal driven especially with respect to initiating and maintaining donor relationships.
  • Display a positive attitude, show concern for people and community, demonstrate presence, self-confidence, common sense and good listening ability.
  • Demonstrated organizational and project management abilities.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills; strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and execute multiple projects under demanding deadlines are essential.
  • Familiarity with web content management, communications, and social media.
  • The ability to lead multiple long and short-term projects simultaneously while meeting all related deadlines is critical.
  • Demonstrated capability to conduct oneself in a calm, positive, professional demeanor when dealing with the public and/or with demanding situations.
  • Ability to work as a team player.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications, MobileCause/Give Smart, and donor database, preferably Raiser’s Edge and/or Salesforce.
  • Self-starter; ability to work independently as well as in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to adjust hours to accommodate the needs of the job.
  • Ability to effectively manage a wide array of tasks, projects, and responsibilities.
