Overview

Olivet Boys & Girls Club (OBGC) of Reading is a non-profit dedicated to offering programs that enable youth to reach their full potential as healthy, productive, caring, and responsible citizens. Their three core areas promote Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Good Character & Citizenship.

 

OBGC is seeking a Vice President of Programming to oversee and execute the OBGC’s club programs, grant writing and volunteer strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage an integrated plan for supporting the successful implementation and operation of the Club’s major programming including athletic, arts and music programming.
  • Provide oversight and support to programming staff to define and implement a strategy to recruit, onboard, and train AmeriCorps members and volunteers.
  • Identify trends and needs and establish program directions accordingly in alignment with strategic plan.
  • Provide program assessment and evaluation and provide leadership and direction regarding continuation, expansion, or elimination of programs.
  • Collaborate with external organizations to source or co-create programming to provide Club Members.
  • Develop budgets in relation to program plans that are consistent with overall club goals.
  • Partner with the Development team to identify, write and apply for grants.
  • Represent the club on State, County, and local committees and commissions and create and foster community partnerships that contribute to the advocacy and advancement of the diverse youth we serve and the impact of the work we do.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience working in a nonprofit, youth development setting.
  • Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience managing federal and state grants.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Spanish bi-lingual preferred.
  • Strong listening and communication skills; verbally and written.
  • Problem solving skills; ability to shift focus and adapt to change.
