Overview

Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida is excited to be expanding their Development Team and are looking for the best and brightest to join our family.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

 

This position is responsible for overseeing all in-Club Development events and the overall support of a comprehensive roster of special event initiatives overseen by the Development Department. This includes supported event logistics, auction, timelines, committee meetings, solicitations and acknowledgements for all events as assigned.

Responsibilities

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

  1. Manages and coordinates all aspects of in-Club Development events and works closely with Club Service Directors to implement event logistics. Events includes but are not limited to Paths To Success, Club Field Days, Club Tours, donor appreciation events, grand openings, and all other events as assigned.
  2. Manages and coordinates all aspects of our Club Blue young professionals Board volunteers. Responsible for coordinating yearly fundraising strategy, preparing meeting agendas, activating Board with Development initiatives, and recruiting new members. Responsible for planning all aspects of yearly Club Blue fundraising event, Winter Glow.
  3. Manages and coordinates donor stewardship activities within the Clubs.
  4. Supports event logistics for signature and regional fundraising events, including Faces of the Future breakfasts, Black & White Ball, Be Great Gala, Celebrate The Children, and other events as assigned.
  5. Manages approved third-party events and promotions for department based on established criteria. (Northern Star Golf Tournament, HKS Golf Tournament, Etc.)
  6. Represents the organization in the community through presentations at workplace giving campaigns, corporate functions, and other events.
  7. Provides marketing support for assigned events including collateral materials related to fundraising events, design of invitations, setting up marketing materials at events, necessary slide shows, awards, event eblasts, etc.
  8. Manages and maintains accurate records of registration and event logistics. Accurately records event related information into the Raiser's Edge database.
  9. Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required or as assigned to support Development Department.

RELATIONSHIPS:

 

Internal: Maintain oral and written contact with Director of Events, Vice President of Development, Development Team, staff and Board for the purpose of exchange of information as it related to campaign and special events.

 

External: Maintain verbal and written contact with event prospects, donors and vendors.

Qualifications

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  2. A minimum of three to five years' work experience in non-profit, including organizing small and large-scale special events.
  3. Strong oral and written communication skills both verbal and written.
  4. Ability to generate interest in the company or program and reach out to appropriate business partners.
  5. Strategic and creative thinker, proactive, driven, highly organized with demonstrated hands-on experience and the ability to multi-task, handle pressure and meet deadlines.
  6. Strong project management and revenue management.
  7. Understanding of basic fundraising and sales principles.
  8. Highly competent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and other related programs.
  9. Highly competent working independently and with a team.
