Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Guided by the Mission and strategic priorities of the organization, develop the Philanthropic Strategy to meet the current and long-term needs of the organization.
Translate long-term Philanthropic Strategy into segmented multi-year plans and ensure successful execution of each area of philanthropy to fund key initiatives and general operations.
Develop annual fundraising budgeted goals and objectives based on established plans, meeting documented targets and growing each area of philanthropy year over year.
Build deep relationships with existing supporters and commit to ongoing prospect identification through analysis of donor database and external philanthropic sources and identify donors with greater capacity to increase support for the organization.
Increase donor acquisition and retention and grow giving levels in all areas. Properly steward all donors. Specific areas of philanthropy include:
Expand an intentional corporate engagement program to grow new and existing business partnerships, corporate foundation grants, and cause-marketing strategies. Bring corporate donors up the ladder from Event Giving to Annual sustaining commitments.
Create and implement a formalized Individual Giving Program to grow monthly giving, direct mail, digital fundraising, the annual campaign, and major gifts through existing initiatives and intentional donor cultivation, stewardship, and recognition strategies.
Design and implement a Planned Giving Program assuring that donors understand the options of current transformational gifts as well as legacy gifts and future commitments to the organization.
Maintain and expand Foundation Giving.
Design and implement capital campaign(s) for facilities projects as set in organization strategic plans. Secure additional supporters and engage existing ones in the above categories.
Use Special Events as an opportunity to showcase the organization in the community and as an on-ramp to greater giving.
Hire, develop and lead a high-achieving development team to meet goals and objectives.
Be outgoing, confident, well-known, and networked in the community; a key representative of Boys & Girls Clubs and youth development expert.
Provide regular reports on financials, fundraising activities, and benchmarking metrics to stakeholders.
Manage and strengthen written development processes and systems, including recordkeeping, gift acknowledgments, fundraising database.
Additionally, this person will execute the following responsibilities in these key areas:
Board/Leadership Volunteer Engagement
Assist in recruiting and developing effective leadership volunteers who actively govern and leverage their personal networks to support the strategic priorities of the organization as Board or Committee Members.
Establish and engage Regional Advisory Boards, raising funds and awareness in each geographical community we serve.
Marketing & Public Relations
Ensure the organization’s Teachable Point of View on the whole organization as well as key initiatives are well crafted, fresh, and approachable. Ensure all are on brand including training for verbal messaging and keeping materials current.
Build brand recognition throughout Bay Area by developing, maintaining, and leading implementation of marketing and earned media strategies.
Oversee Marketing team in creating branded, consistent campaigns through email, social media, and the website to highlight our mission, events, donors, and club programs.
