Position Overview: The Development Manager’s primary role is to manage & submit grant reports, be the go between Development & Operations to assist with the successful implementation of grants, manage social media, & assist in generating financial resources to support the organizations budget.

Supervision Received:

The Development Manager reports directly to and receives regular supervision from the Vice President of Development.

 

Supervision Exercised:

The Development Manager does not oversee or supervise any other positions.

 

Benefits: 

Boys & Girls Club of the Pikes Peak Region offers medical, dental, and vision to new employees the first of the month following 60 days of employment. Our current coverage is with United Health Care.

The percentage the company contributes is tiered. Up to 3 years of employment the company pays 50% of medical, dental, and vision for the employee, 3-5 years it increases to 75% and after 5 years it increases to 100%. Spouse and dependent medical, dental and vision coverage is offered at the full expense of the employee.

 

We also offer life, Short-Term Disability and Long-Term Disability paid for by BGCPPR at 100% for employee only.

 

The organization also participates in a defined pension plan. This is a 401A employer contribution only. Normally, eligibility begins after first year of employment as long as 1000 hours has been met. Once eligibility has been met the Club currently pays 5% of your salary annually. In this plan we have a 2–6-year vesting schedule.

 

Additional benefits include 15 days of paid time off (PTO). This PTO accrues per pay period beginning at 90 days of employment. We have 9 traditional paid holidays beginning after 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Grants

  • Manages and submits all grant reports in accordance with grant requirements
  • Meet or exceed reporting deadlines for all grants
  • Collaborates with the Operations team to go over LOA’s, communicate the terms and needs of each grant, program outcomes, & the reporting requirements
  • Performs grant evaluations, tracking and surveys, as necessary, in coordination with Clubs so that meaningful and measurable outcomes are documented
  • Coordinates Club visits and regular check-ins with program staff across all Clubs to ensure effective operations, program quality, and grant compliance
  • Maintain documentation of all grants received & grant reports

 

     Special Events

  • Assist in acquiring sponsors and inviting individuals to attend
  • Help with planning & executing the annual Gala & Vic Andrews Golf Scramble
  • Aid in following up after events to include phone calls, Club tours, thank you notes, etc to donors and attendees

 

Social Media

  • Oversee communications with multiple internal and external audiences including teens, parents, alumni, community stakeholders, volunteers, staff, and partner organizations
  • Partner with internal department heads and field professionals to maximize opportunities to promote BGCPPR and sell key services, experiences, and initiatives
  • Provide strategic guidance to the management team on all marketing and communications matters
  • Oversee and manage all social media accounts
  • Creation of resources and collateral designed to grow and enhance the BGCPPR brand
  • Create and proactively maintain a positive internal and external image for BGCPPR
  • Take photos of youth in the Clubs & create posts to thank grant funders and donors

 

Other

  • Attend all staff meetings
  • Perform all other job-related duties as assigned       

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  1. Strong work-ethic and a commitment to the mission and growth of the Boys & Girls Club of the Pikes Peak Region
  2. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required. Direct experience working in a similar role may be substituted but will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
  3. The position will require a minimum of at least two (2) years of grant administration or fiscal support experience.
  4. Strong writing skills that convert data into compelling stories about program outcomes.
  5. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, grammar and proofreading skills, as well as exceptional accuracy.
  6. A minimum of two years or more of professional experience in youth development, non-profit management, sales or new business development with an emphasis on fundraising, grant reporting, management, budgeting, community and public relations.     
  7. Working knowledge and use of donor database software (Vision preferred, etc) 
  8. Knowledge of accounting, business practices and principals as they relate to fundraising
  9. Must submit to and pass a background check & drug test

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Frequently required to sit, walk, stand, hear, talk, see, use hands, reach and manipulate objects, tools or controls. This position requires mobility. One must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license. Duties involve moving items weighing up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis. Usual office working conditions with typical noise level in the work environment.
