Overview

Position Summary:

The Site Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, development and implementation of a broad range of out-of-school time programs for school age youth at select Boys & Girls Club of Pawtucket off site location.  This position operates at a specific school age site.  This may include but is not limited to State of Rhode Island DCYF licensed childcare programs. The position is responsible for ensuring compliance with all pertinent licensing, accreditation, and program evaluation.  This is a contracted, grant funded position that will be in effect through August 2024, $50,000/Year

Hours: Full Time Monday-Friday, approximately 35 hours each week

 

The Site Manager will work closely with school partners to create a safe, fun environment that promotes academic growth, social emotional health and wellness, and hands-on learning through engaging enrichment activities.  This role combines a mix of administrative and hands-on work to ensure youth are thriving in our programs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Plan and implement activities that foster learning and growth in the Club priority outcome areas: Academic Success, Good Character & Citizenship, and Healthy Lifestyles, and support the organizational goals and Mission.

 

  • Demonstrate leadership to assure conduct, safety, and development of members and staff providing guidance and acting as a role model to members and staff, and ensuring Club policies and procedures are enforced at all times.

 

  • In addition to planning, developing, implementing and evaluating the out-of-school time programs, the Site Manager must be actively involved in maximizing enrollment and the potential of the programs.

 

  • Ensure guidelines and requirements are met for credentialing agencies such as: DCYF Licensing, Bright Stars, RI Program Quality Assessment, and any associated food service programs.

 

  • Oversee Therapeutic Childcare Program.

 

  • Ensure program supplies are maintained within the program budget.

 

·         Hire, train, and manage a team of youth development professionals to effectively deliver programs to members providing appropriate support and guidance to youth development staff on a daily basis, but also through weekly team meetings, individual performance reviews, and training and professional development opportunities.

 

  • Establish a network and develop an ongoing relationship with appropriate school personnel, teachers and principals, program providers (e.g. Girls Scouts, Farm Fresh, Shri Yoga, etc.), and other out-of-school time providers in Rhode Island.

 

  • Ensure program areas are safe, clean, well-ventilated and well-lit, and that the Club equipment is maintained in good working condition.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

 

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of principles related to youth development, group leadership skills and an understanding of group dynamics.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage budgets and control expenses.
  • Current Rhode Island driver’s license. Chauffer’s endorsement preferred.
  • Current CPR, First Aid, AED certification.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written also required.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • A four-year college degree from an accredited college in related youth development field, preferred.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience working at a Boys & Girls Club or similar youth development agency.
  • Experience communicating with families and working with children with special needs/inclusion programming preferred.
  • Experience hiring, training, and managing staff, including scheduling.

 

RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal:

  • Maintain close, daily contact with the Club’s professional staff to interpret and explain organizational mission, program objectives and standards, discuss issues and provide/receive information as they relate to job responsibilities.

External:

  • Maintain applicable contact with Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Club stakeholders, nonprofit organizations, external community groups and others as required.
