Position Purpose

Under direct supervision of the Marketing Manager, this position will contribute to the Marketing  departments’ digital and print communications.  This will be done through a variety of channels and tactics including but not limited to external marketing, fundraising efforts, and special events. 

 

This position is full time (40 hours weekly) supporting the Marketing Department at the  John N. Callander Administrative Office.  This position is 4 days onsite and 1 day remote, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Administrative Support (30%) 

  • Schedule meetings, take notes during meetings, and distribute recap emails.
  • Increase operational efficiency, file asset organization, and help set up and improve upon administrative workflow processes when and where needed.
  • Organize and maintain BGCSF’s media archive and create opportunities for other stakeholders to contribute image and video files.
  • After sufficient training, autonomously manage new staff training on the Canva platform that reinforces key brand messaging and brand guideline compliance. 
  • Collaborate across departments to collect stories and statistics about BGCSF’s impact. 

External Marketing (40%)

  • Manage website operations including, but not limited to: compiling content and assets, writing/editing web copy facilitating timely web page updates and new web pages, and tracking website reporting and analytics.
  • Support the creation of  high-quality, effective, and consistent marketing materials such as newsletters, e-blasts, video shorts, Clubhouse collateral, and special event promotions.
  • Support the generation of online and social media content that engages diverse audience segments using Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube.

Special Event and Internal Event Support (30%) 

  • Support the production of special event materials for organization-wide large scale events, including collateral, signage, and outreach; and ensure events are on brand, on message, on time and on strategy.
  • Support and troubleshoot technology and collateral requests related to events for internal stakeholders (Clubhouses and other departments). 
  • Regularly attend Clubhouse/Camp/Citywide programs and event and take photos and video assets for use in marketing materials

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Communications or a Bachelor’s degree in another discipline 
  • One year of professional experience in a marketing-related field.
  • Strong organization and project management skills.
  • Self-starter, creative, and highly motivated to learn and grow in the marketing field. 
  • Ability to consistently produce detail-oriented work.
  • Strong technical skills
  • Interest in learning and mastering new technologies quickly. 
  • Active listener and team player with ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively
  • Commitment to professionalism and emotional maturity in the workplace. 

 

Preferred Skills

  • An eye for design, with experience using design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator and/or Canva.
  • A passion for capturing high-quality photos and videos that are linked to storytelling, with an interest in advancing expertise in these areas. 
  • Experience with content management systems such as Webflow.
  • Experience with social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
  • Familiarity with email marketing tools such as Mailchimp.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience with diverse communities and individuals and have a deep appreciation for the vision and culture of Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco--as well as the ability to articulate that vision effectively. 

 

Physical Requirements

  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination upon employment. 
  • Must be able to lift 15 lbs 
  • Must be able to stand for at least one  hour consecutively.
  • Must be able to sit at a computer workstation for long periods of time.

Pay

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and BGCSF needs.  At BGCSF,  our decisions are based on other factors and dependent on circumstances for each position.  Depending on the need and requirement of the position,  an individual could be hired at or near the entry level, mid - level or top of the range for their role and compensation.  As such, a reasonable estimate of the current range is $24.04-$26.44.
