Position Purpose

Under direct supervision of the Director of Development, The Volunteer & Corporate Engagement Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of BGCSF’s volunteer program, including recruitment, training, scheduling of individual and group volunteers, and policy alignments. The Volunteer Manager also serves as BGCSF’s primary corporate engagement liaison as well as liaison to the NextGen Leadership Council, BGCSF’s young professional group. 

 

This position is a full time exempt position at our John N. Callander Administrative Office. This position is 4 days onsite and 1 day remote, Monday to Friday. 

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Volunteer Program Management - 45%

  • Responsible for coordination and placement of group and individual volunteer opportunities. 
  • Identify and develop all volunteer opportunities based on the needs of Clubs, Camp, and/or the main office by regularly visiting our 15 BGCSF locations.  
  • Facilitate tours and orientations for prospective volunteers. 
  • Provide necessary training and onboarding of volunteers. 
  • Promote and market BGCSF’s volunteer program to the community (including independent high schools, churches, community organizations) and corporations.
  • Develop relations with the corporate community, cultivating and stewarding the companies and employees specifically through corporate volunteer events and skill-based pro bono volunteerism. 

Fundraising & Events – 15%

  • Cultivate relationships with corporate decision-makers and stakeholders to enhance volunteer opportunities at BGCSF and leverage giving relationships.
  • Solicit Volunteer Sponsorship Program gifts and manage stewardship of companies who participate.
  • Staff lead of annual Kids Night Out volunteer events.
  • Recruit and coordinate staff and volunteers for BGCSF major fundraising events (YOY, Gala, Golf Tournament).
  • Partner with the Individual Giving Manager to develop annual volunteer-to-donor strategies.
  • Support team fundraising campaigns and additional events as needed.

Program Administration - 25%

  • Manage volunteer recruitment software (VolunteerHub) and volunteer check-in software (GoogleForms), and any other software needs for the program.
  • Determine the data necessary to track for analyzing program success. 
  • Ensure all volunteer data is entered into development database and managed with integrity. 
  • In partnership with Database Manager, produce program monthly dashboard, annual summaries, and ad hoc reports to evaluate efficacy of the volunteer program.
  • Maintain and update all documents and procedures related to the volunteer program. 
  • Regularly evaluate the volunteer program’s procedures and practices to ensure efficiency and that the program meets the needs of the organization, Club Members, and volunteers. 
  • Effectively follow the volunteer policy (and update as needed) to ensure the safety of all youth, staff, and volunteers. 
  • Stay abreast of laws, regulations, and best practices and ensure compliance. 

Next Generation Leadership Council Management - 15%

  • Support administration of NextGen Leadership Council, BGCSF’s young professional group. 
  • Provide reporting and outcomes measurement support to Council Co-Chairs and Steering Committee to ensure the Council is achieving their revenue ($200K) and engagement goals. 
  • Manage coordination of annual meeting calendar, website portal, internal communications, engagement data tracking, reporting, and more. 

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • 1-3 years demonstrated ability and experience in volunteer and/or development experience. 
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Professionally present in front of 10-100 people. 
  • Proficient in Google Workplace.
  • Experienced with social media channels and skilled with social media strategies.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in volunteer and database (CRM) management.

Physical Requirements

  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination upon employment. 
  • Must be able to lift 15 lbs. 
  • Must be able to stand for at least 1 hour consecutively. 
  • Must be able to sit at a computer workstation for long periods of time.

Pay

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and BGCSF needs.  At BGCSF,  our decisions are based on other factors and dependant on circumstances for each position.  Depending on the need and requirement of the position,  an individual could be hired at or near the entry level, mid - level or top of the range for their role and compensation.  As such, a reasonable estimate of the current range is $65,000.00 - $67,000.00 annually.
