Position Purpose

 

The Camp Office Manager is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day on-site operation of Camp administration and operates as an assistant to the Camp Director and should act as a "gatekeeper" to the Camp Director. They are responsible for the efficient operation of the Camp office, employee/camper files, communication, and all administrative tasks. 

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Live on-site at a residential summer Camp.
  • Coordinate daily with the SF Administrative Office to organize camper departure and arrival days.
  • Coordinate with the Camp Director and SF Admin Office about staff arrival, training, paperwork, timesheets, payroll, terminations, days off, etc.  
  • Handle all incoming calls and provide excellent customer service to parents, campers, staff, visitors, and BGCSF personnel. 
  • Manage all office communications including messages, camper rosters, daily schedule, mail, etc. 
  • Track daily Camp numbers of all persons on site. 
  • Manage camper files. 
  • Maintain office machines and office supplies. 
  • Track and report all visitors. 
  • Supervise the Office Assistant positions and teens participating in job training.
  • Enforce all rules of the Camp office. 
  • Assist Camp Director and Assistant Camp Directors with administrative tasks as needed. 

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • Two years of administrative experience in a busy office environment. 
  • Ability to work with youth and staff in a positive manner. 
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.?  
  • Google Workplace and Microsoft Suite. 
  • Ability to handle challenging or stressful situations in a professional manner. 
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality. 
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Experience working with a similar youth development organization. 

Preferred Skills

  • Experience supervising staff or volunteers. 
  • Experience with residential summer camps. 
  • Valid driver’s license. 
  • Language Skills: Spanish 

Physical Requirements

  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination upon employment.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs.
  • Must be able to walk on uneven terrain for at least 3 miles.
  • Must be able to stand for 8 hours (with breaks).
  • Must be able to work in temperatures ranging from 30° to 100°.

Schedule

  • Temporary/Seasonal Summer position.
  • Applicants should be available June 7 - August 7, 2023 to work & live on-site at our Camp location in Northern California (Mendocino County). 
  • Staff members work 40-56 hours/week depending on position with two days off per week. Days off vary per session. 

Lodging

The Office Manager will not be required to stay in a cabin with youth on a regular basis but will be assigned bunk-style indoor housing that may be shared with up to 4 other staff members.

Pay

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and BGCSF needs.  At BGCSF,  our decisions are based on other factors and are dependent on the circumstances of each position.  Depending on the need and requirement of the position,  an individual could be hired at or near the entry-level, mid-level or top-of-the-range for their role and compensation.  As such, a reasonable estimate for this temporary summer position from June 7 - August 7, 2023, is $4,250.00.
