Overview

Responsible for providing accounting support and assistance to the Director of Finance in carrying out the overall financial and accounting function for the organization. Includes facilitating the accurate and timely processing of contributions received, managing payroll preparation and payment, and preparation of federal grant and reimbursement requisitions.

 

 

Responsibilities

Major Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare Daily Cash, Daily Forecast and Daily Deposits Reports.
  2. Maintain daily bank account reconciliations.
  3. Record daily accounts receivable transactions.
  4. Prepare monthly general ledger account reconciliations.
  5. Prepare grant budgets and reports.
  6. Prepare and reconcile monthly grant billings.
  7. Process bi-weekly payroll.
  8. Perform month-end close duties.
  9. Prepare and record journal entries.
  10. Prepare monthly variance analysis.
  11. Reviews, investigates and corrects errors and inconsistencies in journal entries, documents and reports.
  12. Assist with the budgeting and forecasting processes.
  13. Assist with the preparation of the annual financial audit and 990 tax return.
  14. Assist with designing and implementing accounting process improvements.
  15. Document business processes and procedures.
  16. Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
  2. Great Plains software experience preferred.
  3. 3 years of accounting experience required; 5 years of accounting experience preferred.
  4. Grant billing, reporting, and budgeting experience required.
  5. Non-profit experience required.
  6. Demonstrates exceptional IT, Excel/spreadsheet and Office products skills.

Relationships:

Internal: Communicate with Club staff, administrative staff and President.

External: Communicate with Board Members, donors, vendors and general public.
