Overview

The Alfond Youth & Community Center (AYCC), Boys & Girls Club and YMCA of Greater Waterville, the only merged organization in the country established in 1924 operates a comprehensive network of facilities and programs serving Central Maine.  The AYCC is focused on strengthening our community by offering programs that create a positive impact with youth, teens, adults, families, and seniors. Our mission driven organization serves 85,000 hot free meals yearly, over 1,200 wellness members and 5,000 youth members averaging 400 children per day in our licensed childcare sites.

In addition to our central building of 100,000 square feet, the AYCC operates six (6) off sites after school centers, manages the outdoor municipal pool, owns and operates a premier residential and day camp operation at Camp Tracy. The organization also has two MLB licensed replica baseball fields, Maine’s Fenway and Purnell Wrigley Field. We are proud of our 98 years of service to the community, but we remain even more so hopeful about the impact upon our Central Maine communities yet to come.  The organization has no debit and has annual budget of 6.5M. The AYCC has over 160 employees and is continuing grow.

As the Marketing Director, you will be responsible for leading the successful development of strategy and management of digital platforms including, but not limited to, online, mobile, social, email, text, search, display, interactive, platform integration, and digital content development. You will use all platforms (earned, paid and digital) to advance the AYCC’s cause and strategic priorities of member experience, program and staff experience, community building and philanthropy.  This position leads all marketing and communications team members with the objective of increase positive visibility and awareness among key audiences.  This position will collaborate closely with the Board, Executive Leadership and Community teams as well as operational functions across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, prioritize, articulate, and lead the implementation of a future vision for digital space that aligns marketing technology with organizational strategic priorities, improves processes and performance, streamlines marketing communications operations, and crafts new digital business models.
  • Implement quantifiable and measurable marketing strategy to achieve the organization’s brand goals.
  • Develop tools, provide support, document processes, and train staff to increase the competencies of internal teams and resources who interact with digital platforms.
  • Hire, train, and mentor marketing & communications staff and build a high capacity and effective team.
  • Serve as an inspirational leader for staff; promote a culture of strong integrity, high performance, meaningful collaboration, and continuous improvement that values commitment to equity, learning, and quality.
  • Manage external partners to ensure alignment with project expectations, in collaboration with finance and information technology teams.
  • Identify, manage, create, and publish high-quality digital content including email, video, story banks, website, and social media.
  • Work collaboratively with the marketing communications team to ensure brand and voice consistency.
  • Any other tasks that may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in integrated marketing, communication technology, new media or related field or equivalent knowledge and experience. A Master of Science in Marketing is preferred.
  • Four years of successful experience in full stack, multi-channel digital marketing, web design and management, analytics, and demand generation.
  • Deep experience in earned media generation across all mass media platforms and positive reputation management.
  • Successful experience in managing creative teams and consultants.
  • Deep experience with experiential marketing that brings expert understanding of the intersection of offline and online user experiences.
  • Robust knowledge of content development with an ability to collaborate with copywriters and marketing communications to elevate all forms of media, marketing, and technology.
  • Proven ability to be an innovative, creative, proactive, and self-directed team player who works in a fast-paced environment and meets deadlines.
  • In-depth knowledge and effective use of major social media platforms to build community engagement, multi-center ambassadorship, and (DEI)
  • Experience in marketing planning, strategy and workflows, business process design, behavioral marketing, and data mining and analysis.
  • Experience analyzing and using data to inform decisions. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing, budgeting, and testing all paid digital advertising, including display and search; establish partnership with digital experience team.
  • Ability to draft statements of work, develop RFPs, scope of service, and complex business correspondence in the evaluation of new tools and systems.
  • Commitment to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
  • Ability to pass all the required background screens.
  • Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on the first day, and other online and in-person training as required.
