Overview

Would you like to work for an established, quality, community early learning program in the unique environment of a children’s museum? Come work for our NAEYC Accredited, Reggio-Emilia inspired early learning program! We are looking for early childhood professionals for Toddler/Twos, and Preschool age group classrooms.

 

The Assistant Teacher is a valuable part of our teaching team in the early learning center. The assistant teacher implements daily activities and lessons in the classroom and museum, assists the head teacher with lesson planning, observation and documentation, and assessments in accordance with NAEYC, School Readiness, and OEC guidelines. The assistant teacher also helps to prepare the learning environment, conduct small group lessons, and supervise the children under the head teacher's direction.

 

Requirements:

 

A minimum of an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field with 12 ECE credits and one year of experience with young children is required for this position.
Candidates should be familiar with NAEYC standards, CT state licensing guidelines, and Developmentally Appropriate Practice. Prospective employees should be familiar with the CT Early Learning and Development Standards. First Aid, CPR, and Administration of Medication is preferred, but not required. The assistant teacher should be outgoing, friendly, detail-oriented, flexible, and reliable, a team player, able to multi-task and take direction well. Must be able to work Monday-Friday during early learning center hours. A familiarity with the Reggio-Emilia approach to education is preferred. This is a full time position with benefits. Compensation based on education and experience.
